Staff told the La Center School District board on Oct. 8 that several practices are producing positive results: an elementary open house that was very well attended, consistent behavior language at the elementary level, a no-cell-phone policy at the middle school, and WIN time for targeted student supports.
Minutes summarize these items as examples of what is "going well," noting that district staff see the initiatives as useful tools for improving school climate and supporting students who need extra help. Administrators and teachers said WIN time has been helpful for students who may need intervention on specific subjects.
District leaders heard the updates during the linkage workshop; because the session was a workshop there were no motions or policy votes attached to these program updates.
