Overbrook council accepts clean 2024–25 audit, approves financial report

The Overbrook City Council on July 9 accepted an independent audit for fiscal 2024–25 that found no major state‑required changes and issued no auditor recommendations.

"There were no major changes required by the state," presenter Sean Gorden said while reporting the city received its highest and cleanest audit rating; bank reconciliations were completed "timely and accurately," he said. Mayor Jon Brady moved to approve the audit; the motion passed with a recorded 5‑0 vote.

Treasurer Becky Coltrane told the council payroll adjustments related to a holiday caused temporary reporting variances in May and June. She said large transfers made in May and June produced one‑time variances "but will not occur next month," and reported the pool fund commonly runs negative before the season ends. Becky said $21,000 was taken from the sewer fund and that she will work with staff to deliver a quarterly spreadsheet and clearer month labeling.

The council approved the treasurer's report by motion. Members asked staff to verify an unchanged evaluation figure before final budget submission and requested follow‑up on lake maintenance, sidewalk completion and a fall street project.
