Pratt County declares local disaster emergency after April 25 storms

Chair (S1) moved that the commission adopt a proclamation declaring Pratt County a state and local disaster emergency for storms on April 25. The chair read the motion aloud: "Motion we pass resolution number 2026DashO4Dash27 in proclamation." Commissioners approved the measure by voice vote and the chair declared the motion carried.

Presenter (S5) described widespread hail damage and documented impacts sent to state officials: "I did... send all of this to the state as well." He said the Pratt airport was hit hard—"The airport really got Hammered"—with building doors and vehicles damaged and gutters clogged, and that the county used a new Baron system to map the hail core and collect photos, timestamps and path data to support recovery efforts. The county clerk and staff will circulate the signed resolution and provide copies to state emergency officials as the county seeks any additional assistance the governor may authorize.
