Resident urges Collin County to plan now for board transitions and regional representation

Lee Moore, a member of the public who spoke during the meeting’s comment period, told the court she appreciated prior discussion of fiscal responsibility and then raised concerns about continuity and representation on regional boards when long‑serving commissioners depart. She said Commissioners Williams and Webb have spent many years building relationships on regional bodies and warned that if replacements are not identified before those departures, Collin County could face a gap in representation.

Moore urged the court to "consider getting ahead of that now by replacing Commissioner Williams as the RTC alternate with someone who isn't retiring" so the successor would have time to build relationships and learn issues before 2027. She asked staff to inventory board and commission appointments held by outgoing commissioners, identify transition risks, and return with a plan so successors have runway to be effective. The court did not record a formal directive in response during the meeting.
