Washington Township supervisors approve routine items, set clean-up dates and authorize bids

The Washington Township Board of Supervisors met March 17, 2025, at the Municipal Building. Chairman Dan McGregor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., and the board approved the Feb. 17, 2025 minutes (motion by Supervisor Harlen Anderson, Jr.; second by Supervisor Jeff Propps) and the treasurer’s report (motion by Supervisor Dan McGregor; second by Propps).

Supervisors discussed several routine and administrative matters. The board rejected a single trash-collection bid from Republic Services after residents and supervisors noted there were no competing bids. McGregor moved to reject the bid; Harlen Anderson, Jr. seconded, and the motion carried. The board also granted 90-day extensions for the Groff Julius land development plan and for a York Water Company subdivision plan, both on motions by McGregor that were seconded and recorded as carried.

Supervisors announced spring clean-up on April 9–10 (8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) and April 11 (8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.), reminded residents that Agricultural Security applications are due by June 1, and noted a new township website at www.washingtontownshipyc.net. The board authorized the secretary to advertise bids to be opened at next month’s meeting for various stones (E‑3 delivered), hot‑mix blacktop, line painting and fuels (motion by McGregor; second by Propps). Finally, the board approved payment of bills from the General Fund totaling $23,936.59 and from the State Account totaling $157.78.
