Towanda Area School District trustees approved proposed summer school offerings for 2026, including Towanda Elementary (Grades 3–6), Towanda Jr./Sr. High School (Grades 7–12), a Summer Academy (Grades 9–12), Title I programming and Extended School Year (ESY) services. The program approvals are contingent on sufficient student interest and staffing.
The board also adopted The American Pageant (Kennedy, O'Mara & Cohen, Cengage, 18th Edition, 2025) as the AP U.S. History textbook at a cost of $7,685.63. In their brief school reports, district principals noted the end of the school year is busy: Joel Spinney, Principal of Academic Affairs, Dawn Hart, Primary Principal, and Laura Steele, Elementary Principal said, "May is a busy month for all schools. A lot of academics, field trips, and events taking place."
