The Towanda Area School District Board of Education on Feb. 17 appointed Mark Vail to fill the Region 1 vacancy. Ashley Popovich moved the appointment; Brooks Greenland seconded. The board recorded a roll call vote of seven yes and one no, with John Hennessy voting against the motion, and the appointment passed 7–1.
Following the vote, Mark Vail took the Oath of Office. President Scott Hauser presided over the meeting and announced the result. The appointment concludes the board’s process to fill the seat for Region 1 and restores the board to its full complement of members.
