Towanda Area SD board approves September financial reports, adopts tax-limit resolution
Summary
On Oct. 21 the Towanda Area School District Board approved September 2024 financial reports and passed Resolution #TASD 2024/25-02 to limit any 2025–26 tax increase to the index; both actions passed by unanimous voice votes recorded in the minutes.
After presenting the September financial report, board member Brady Finogle moved, seconded by Matthew Wheeler, "to approve the financial reports of September 2024," including General Fund quarterly and year-to-date summaries, bill lists, receipts, the food service report and treasurer's reports; the motion was approved by voice vote, "all in favor, motion passed 8-0-0-1." Later in the same meeting Brooks Greenland moved, seconded by Matthew Wheeler, to approve Resolution #TASD 2024/25-02 which limits any tax increase to the index for the 2025/26 fiscal year budget. The minutes record that resolution passed by voice vote, "all in favor, motion passed 8-0-0-1." The minutes do not specify the numerical index or projected dollar impact to district taxpayers.
