The board debated whether to engage the Oregon School Boards Association (OSBA) to conduct a targeted staff feedback survey as part of the superintendent evaluation.
Carol Hacherl moved to proceed with hiring OSBA to administer the targeted staff survey; Angel Ashdown seconded. The motion failed on a 2–3 vote — Bob Brown and Judy Miles voted in favor while Korinn Hockett, Carol Hacherl and Angel Ashdown opposed. After that vote, Judy Miles moved to postpone hiring until OSBA can present more details in December; Carol Hacherl seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The minutes record both votes and show the board divided on authorizing the survey without additional information. The board scheduled further discussion and a presentation from OSBA for the December meeting so members can review the proposed survey method and scope before making a final decision.
