Big Spring ISD board declares Anderson D.A.E.P. campus surplus, authorizes sale process

The Big Spring Independent School District Board of Trustees on Oct. 14 adopted a resolution declaring the district-owned Anderson D.A.E.P. campus, located at 229 Airbase Road in Big Spring, Texas, as surplus and authorizing steps to sell the property.

"Motion was made by Tonya Becker that the Board adopt a Resolution, as presented, declaring as surplus and authorizing the sale of the real property and improvements known as Big Spring ISD's Anderson D.A.E.P. Campus, located at 229 Airbase Road, Big Spring, Texas," the minutes record. Julie Harris seconded the motion and the board voted 5-0 to carry it.

The resolution directs the superintendent or his designee to provide legal notice of the district's intent to sell the property "as is," retain all mineral rights belonging to the district, solicit offers to purchase on the terms discussed, and take any other actions required by law or board policy. The minutes include a formal property description noting "10 acres out of and a part of Section No. 2, Block No. 33, Township 1-South, T. & P. Railway Company Surveys, Howard County, Texas."
