Staff seeks authorization for FAA environmental survey for runway project

Matt Oler told commissioners the FAA requires an environmental review (a categorical exclusion–style review) before the runway-extension project can proceed. He said Olsen would conduct site visits, take photographs, prepare an environmental inventory (including wetlands and floodplain checks), and coordinate with agencies such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the State Historic Preservation Office.
