Board schedules budget meetings; staff say maintenance needs outpace available funds

Budget committee member Terry Lenchitsky asked whether the district receives funding for homeschool students; Belanger clarified the district receives no funding unless homeschool students enroll in district classes.
Lenchitsky also asked whether there is a list of building maintenance and improvements. Belanger said there is a long list and that Firwood Elementary will receive a roof next year, but that available funding cannot cover all maintenance needs.
The board published a schedule of follow-up meetings: April 13 (regular meeting), April 28 (first budget committee meeting), April 30 (second budget committee meeting, if needed) and May 5 (third budget committee meeting, if needed). The workshop adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
