At the April 13, 2026 Oregon Trail School District 46 board meeting in Sandy, Superintendent Aaron Bayer told trustees the district is in budget season for the 2026–27 school year and faces constrained finances. He said the district had reduced a prior projected shortfall "from a 4‑million‑dollar short fall to only being short $800,000," and cautioned that "money is tight" while some other Oregon districts are making large cuts.
Bayer also updated the board on certified‑staff negotiations, saying bargaining parties have met four times and reached a tentative agreement. The superintendent framed the budget position as an improvement from last year’s projection but emphasized continued fiscal caution as the district finalizes the 2026–27 spending plan.
