High school band director Dustin Gif presented the trip plan, describing a four- to five-day itinerary that includes park-hopper access, a one-day Universal pass, on-property lodging, and an industry-led instrumental "soundtrack" session. He stated the per-student cost that the group shipped to the board as "1,925" and said the Oley Valley Music Association had pledged to cover roughly $15,000 of transportation and that a community partner (recorded in the materials as OBCF/OBVCF) had agreed to contribute about $5,000.
Board members pressed for a clearer not-to-exceed cost and asked whether alternative, less-expensive travel options had been explored. Several members said they were reluctant to reject the trip outright and instead favored tabling the motion to allow time to reduce the district's expected contribution and produce a firmer fundraising plan. Mr. Moore moved to table the item; the motion passed by roll call.
