The Whitehall School District trustees approved the trustee financial summaries for fiscal year 2526 and adopted budgets for the coming fiscal year.
The presenter walked trustees through the Trustee Financial Summary (TFS) for the elementary and high school, describing fund balances, depreciation schedules and grants. The food services fund received a $32,000 transfer to leave an ending balance of $4,000 as seed money for the new year, the presenter said.
For the elementary budget (fiscal year 2627), the presenter reported a taxable value listed in the transcript as "10,38,510" and current elementary enrollment of 310 K'8 students. The recommended mills were reported as 87.89, down from 98.05 the prior year; the presenter attributed the reduction to both an increase in taxable valuation and legislative changes to how school revenue is generated.
For the high school budget, the presenter reported a taxable valuation of 14,654,900 and said the district increased transportation levies to rebuild reserves after transportation expenditures exceeded revenues in the prior year. Trustees moved to approve the elementary and high school budgets; motions were seconded and approved by voice vote.
The transcript records voice approvals but does not include roll-call tallies.
