The Tomorrow River School District accepted a $4,500 donation from the Amherst Youth Sports Association to support a gym lighting upgrade. Staff said Lumen testing showed lighting in the main gym fell below recommended levels for safety and athletic experience, and the donation would allow the district to complete the project this school year.
"They had graciously offered to donate part of the funds — $4,500 to the project — so we could complete it this year," a staff speaker said. Board members voted to accept the donation and thanked the association for its support. Administrators described the donation as enabling a safety and performance improvement for student athletes and spectators without shifting the project timeline.
