General Pump work complete at Site 4A; Well 18 test pumping finished with Title 22 sampling

Operations staff reported that General Pump completed overhaul and reinstallation of booster A at Site 4A and is preparing a quote for electrical installation at Well 16. A failed motor at Site 5B was replaced and scheduled for installation the next day; the old motor will be sent out for possible rebuild as a spare.

"General Pump has completed the overhaul and reinstallation of booster A at site 4A," Chris said. He added the Site 5B booster A motor went out last week and a new motor was purchased and scheduled for installation.

On well development, staff reported test activities for Well 18 were completed July 8. "The constant rate test was run for approximately 26 hours," Chris said, and Title 22 sampling (including chromium-6 and arsenic) was collected at five depths: 690 ft, 745 ft, 825 ft, 875 ft and 915 ft. Staff said Best Drilling and Pump will airlift remaining sediment and recover a broken suction pipe before final well construction and electrical work proceed; completion can take about a year once those steps begin.

Why it matters: the pump and well repairs and the Well 18 sampling are necessary steps before placing new production capacity into service; staff flagged electrical service scheduling with Edison as a potential timeline driver.
