Kelsey, a community nurse and boosters volunteer, emphasizes transparency and recruitment
Summary
Kelsey told the Seaside SD 10 board she grew up locally, has 20 years as a nurse, two children in district schools and has been active in boosters and graduation planning. She said the district should boost outreach to parents and pursue competitive recruitment to retain staff in the high-cost coastal area.

Kelsey told the board she was born and raised in the area, has worked as a nurse for 20 years and currently has two children in the district. She described participating in boosters and graduation committees and said those roles gave her perspective on school needs and community relationships.
On district priorities Kelsey said she wants Seaside to perform strongly at the state level, with an emphasis on recruiting qualified staff in an expensive coastal region and improving transparency so community members understand board topics and funding needs. "I was born and raised in the area, graduated from Seaside High School," Kelsey said when describing her ties to the community. She supported onboarding, training and the district's annual convention as ways new board members can learn district policy and budget basics.
