The candidate also raised staff-safety concerns from the prior winter and said the board must ensure policies, adequate classroom aides and competitive pay to reduce turnover. "I have been a member of the budget committee for the last two years, so I've learned some of the community's concerns through that," the meeting participant said. The board did not act on the vacancy at the work session; the appointment will be considered at the regular meeting on the 17th.
