Dr. Eric Briggs, the district superintendent, provided a multi-site facilities update. At Central Elementary, basketball hoops are being installed and work continues on the future second-grade classrooms; at the high school, contractors completed a final walkthrough of new bleachers at the football field. Dr. Briggs said the former library renovation at the high school is progressing and the district anticipates using that space in April.
Briggs also said asbestos abatement will occur in the former library space and that a letter would be sent to families in advance. The board recorded that Rommelt Elementary is being considered for a targeted feasibility study and that the district is still pursuing a direction on outbuildings at the football field.
