Auditor reports: 308th Street assessment transfer approved; retroactive RCTP payment and fireworks permits authorized

Auditor Lisa Smith asked the board on June 9 to approve routine administrative items including meeting minutes, an operating transfer and two fireworks permits.

The board approved the minutes of the June 2 meeting, then approved Resolution 1188-06-09-2026 authorizing an operating transfer from the secondary roads 308 Street assessment fund to the secondary road fund. The transcript records the resolution and indicates an amount of $8,551; the auditor presented the transfer as effective June 9, 2026. Smith explained the assessment fund collects payments from property owners and the treasurer transfers installment receipts back to secondary roads when due.

Smith also said the county had approved a FY25 RCTP project for the City of Belleview in June 2024 but that no signed contract copy could be located; the board retroactively authorized the chair's signature to document the previously approved $23,321 payment to Belleview. Finally, the board authorized two fireworks permits: Matthew Franen at 36540 Highway 64 in Preston for July 3, 2026 at dusk (rain date July 5) and Matt Andre at 750 1214th Avenue, Makoka for July 4, 2026 at 9 p.m. (rain date July 5). The board discussed that staff review maps and notify neighbors where warranted before issuing permits.
