Board approves beam-inspection and asphalt bids to address safety and ADA needs

District staff said the trust inspection, funded by a $25,000 TAP grant, will inspect wood beams in approximately six district buildings after past snowfall damage revealed beam defects; the recommended bid was $24,950 and inspections are planned to start after July 1. The board moved, seconded and approved the bid.
Separately, the board approved an asphalt bid with Central Washington to complete pavement work at M High and Central campuses, including playground and staff parking resurfacing, ADA improvements identified in an audit, and leveling a low asphalt area between a main building and gym. Staff said the contractor will proceed before July 1 to lock in prior-year oil prices.
