District posts owner's-rep RFP and eyes immediate roofing work ahead of bond

Superintendent Darren told the board the district had begun formal procurement for bond support and that an RFP for an owner's representative "went out today." He described the owner's-rep role as tailored to work with in-house staff and two named local staff/consultants.

On near-term capital needs, Darren said the district expects to solicit initial roofing bids within days: "we are probably 24 to 48 hours away from at least a initial uh bid to do some roofing," he said, and identified priority locations (Almsville, parts of the junior high, and a section of the high school where leaks have started). He said some remodeling and classroom preparation work is already underway, including moving 50 lockers from the high school to the junior high to accommodate a large sixth-grade class.

Darren said he and finance and operations staff (William, Greg Costella and Jesus Chavez) are coordinating bond preparation, communications and scheduling, and will return to the board with updates in the August meeting. He emphasized weather and timing constraints could push larger projects into next spring if needed.
