The board moved to declare a small parcel of former Penn Township school real estate as no longer needed and approved, in concept, resolution 260518-01 to authorize sale by sealed bid under the Pennsylvania School Code. The resolution’s adoption was conceptual: the board authorized the sale process but delegated logistics (advertisement period, start/end dates and bid procedures) to administration and the solicitor and asked that finalized details return to the June 8 meeting for formal ratification.
A board member who visited the site described it as a narrow tract with tree lines and an adjacent one‑room schoolhouse converted to a residence; the member said it appeared unlikely the district would need the parcel for school use. Dr. Bromberg (administration) explained the two‑step approach: "The board is just simply authorizing the sale part of it," and staff would work out the structure and report back with full logistics before the final resolution is signed.
The board approved the concept motion; no start/end dates or minimum bid amounts were set in the meeting. Administration and the solicitor will prepare advertisement language and timelines and present a final resolution on June 8 for the board’s signature and to proceed with sealed bids.
