The board approved a resolution implementing homestead and farmstead exclusions for the 2026–27 fiscal year after administration reported the district’s state allocation and county homestead/farmstead counts.
Administration said the Pennsylvania Secretary of Education notified the district it will receive $1,345,393.67 from state gaming funds for 2026–27; a prior-year carryover of $324.26 raised the distribution to $1,345,718.13. The county indicated 5,443 approved homesteads and 183 approved farmsteads within district boundaries, with an average assessed value of $195,798 and a median of $182,950. Using the PASBO worksheet, administration calculated an exclusion amount and translated it to a per-homestead tax value (approximately $242.34 per qualifying homestead/farmstead), which informs the millage/exclusion calculation.
Board approved the recommendation to implement the homestead/farmstead exclusions in accordance with Act 1 references presented during the meeting.
