Marion Center Area SD to seek approval for revised student competition policy and updates to high school science courses

The Marion Center Area School Board on Feb. 17 reviewed a completed revision to its Student Competition policy and was told the revision will be placed on the March meeting agenda for approval, with an effective date of July 1, 2025. Superintendent-level staff reported the revision during the district report portion of the work session.
Director of Education Mrs. Gaston and High School Principal Mr. Magolis told the board the recommended 2025–26 high school course catalog includes changes in science courses to meet STEELS standards. The catalog recommendation was presented to the board for approval at a later meeting. The discussion also noted that the week was mid-terms for the third nine weeks and upcoming school events including a musical and parent-teacher conferences.
