Staff to begin permitting for Pelican Sound gatehouse renovation; drawings to be coordinated with RG Architects

Staff told the board they will start the permitting process for the Pelican Sound gatehouse renovations this month and will coordinate with RG Architects to provide clean building elevations for the application. Village of Estero staff provided the necessary application form and staff will work on the submittal and permitting timeline.

Board members discussed whether to combine the monument and gatehouse projects, the Limited Development Order (LDO) implications, bid timing and funding sources. Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal said the detailed monthly renovation specifications are unnecessary for the board-level update and the agenda item title will be shortened to "Continued Discussion/Updates: Pelican Sound Gatehouse Renovations." Staff will begin permitting and return with permitting and bid updates.
