Marion Center Area School Board elects officers at reorganization session

President Gregg Sacco called the Marion Center Area School Board’s Reorganization Session to order at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 3, 2024, in the McCreery Elementary LGI. After roll call and the Pledge of Allegiance, board business began with the appointment of a temporary chair to accept nominations.
Mr. Moretti moved that Mr. McMillen be appointed temporary chair to accept nominations for president, and Mr. Glasser seconded the motion. "Mr. Moretti recommended Mr. McMillen be appointed as temporary chair, seconded by Mr. Glasser," the minutes state. The motion carried with nine members recorded in favor.
Ms. Young nominated Gregg Sacco for president; the board closed nominations on a motion by Mr. Moretti, seconded by Mr. Glasser, and the minutes record the outcome as approved (Aff: 9, Nay: 0, Abstain: 0). The meeting was turned over to the elected president. Mr. Moretti then nominated Ms. Dicken for vice‑president, seconded by Mr. Glasser; nominations were closed by Ms. Young, seconded by Mr. McMillen, and the motion to elect Ms. Dicken carried unanimously.
The session’s minutes list the nine members present and the administrators in attendance and record the minutes as "Respectfully submitted, Christina L. Shilling, Board Secretary."
