Amber Jungworth presented the social studies curriculum review and recommended the district adopt TCI's program for grades 6–12. Jungworth said the selection team evaluated state‑approved vendors at a curriculum fair, conducted classroom and teacher reviews, and prioritized inquiry‑based lessons, interactive simulations, scaffolds for diverse learners and teacher supports.
She emphasized the program's nonpartisan, evidence‑based approach that highlights primary sources, structured argument writing and role simulations. Jungworth said the district will leave physical copies in the conference room and place the materials on public display so parents and staff can preview them before the board votes on formal adoption at the next meeting. "It uses a lesson cycle built around questions and investigations," she said, describing TCI's emphasis on inquiry and experiential learning.
