Superintendent Christa gave a broad operational report: she noted 'a lot of staff who have resigned' while principal-search screening is underway and she hopes to have the new principal in place by July 10. Because of the transition, Christa said she will temporarily assume athletic-director responsibilities for the coming year to ensure schedules, referees and supervision are in place.
On food service, Christa explained the district’s community eligibility (C) status and reimbursement: last year the district’s qualifying percentage was 57%, which yielded roughly 87% of meals reimbursed at the federal free rate (about $4.65 per meal versus ~63¢ for paid-rate reimbursement). She warned that if the qualifying percentage drops in the future, the general fund might need to supplement food-service costs.
Christa also informed the board that the district is not yet compliant with required lead‑in‑water faucet testing but will complete testing in the fall and post results to the district website. The board discussed timing of meetings and financial reporting cycles to allow the finance team extra time to reconcile bank statements before board packets are prepared.
