Nicole Cooper presented the district’s fiscal-year wrap-up and early FY26-27 outlook at the Aug. 12 board meeting, telling members that year-end entries for FY25-26 are still being finalized and that July is typically quiet for transactions, producing a notable difference between year-end and beginning balances.
Cooper said the office will focus on reconciling grants and closing entries in the coming weeks, and called payroll and open-enrollment (Aug. 15–Sept. 15) a major September workload as staff return. She also reminded the board that the FY25-26 audit is scheduled to begin Sept. 28, 2026.
Board members acknowledged the timing pressures around financial reporting at the start of school and discussed a possible meeting-date shift to give finance staff more time to reconcile monthly results; the board later amended the organizational resolution to move regular meetings to the third Wednesday to ease reconciliation timing.
