During a July 7 work session, the Seaside School District 10 Board discussed plans for the 2026–27 superintendent evaluation and signaled several next steps.
Chair Shannon Swedenborg said that “the OSBA evaluation tool has been used by the Board for the past several years,” and the board reaffirmed that OSBA is the board-adopted evaluation instrument. Members discussed adding a targeted feedback survey and reached a consensus that a third party should administer that survey to ensure objectivity. The board also agreed to work with OSBA for goal-setting and asked Shannon and Leslie to arrange a dedicated goal-setting work session that will include OSBA staff. Attachments cited included the OSBA Superintendent Evaluation Workbook and the Superintendent Evaluation Timeline 2026–2027.
Board members did not set final evaluation goals or adopt survey language at the meeting; they agreed instead on the process and on scheduling further work with OSBA.
