During the Feb. 11 winter retreat, the Mineral Point Schools Board placed student and staff safety, belonging and wellness among its top priorities and assigned related tasks to Operations. The board recorded a goal to "move toward a fully 'scratch food' program" and asked Operations to research grant opportunities to support increased investment in school nutrition.
The board also set a 2026-27 target that every high school student participate in at least one extracurricular activity, and directed Operations to explore child care solutions in Mineral Point and to develop options to address space and staffing challenges at the elementary school. No grant amounts, timelines or staffing figures were specified in the minutes.
