Stanfield FFA members outline state convention plans; five seniors to receive state degrees

Kira Stark, the MA chapter vice president of the Stanfield FFA chapter, told the school board that the chapter will attend the state FFA convention during the week of spring break, March 19–22. She said five seniors earned state degrees after completing required SAE hours and competitions, and that chapter delegates will attend general sessions and vote on state officer candidates.
"We were lucky to have five seniors this year get the honor of getting their state degree," Stark said, describing the work students completed to qualify. She outlined the convention schedule — general sessions where degrees and awards are presented, leadership and agricultural-technology workshops, keynote speakers, and some planned team-building activities like bowling and hotel events.
Stark also confirmed travel logistics: students will depart at noon Thursday and return Sunday afternoon. The board did not change the destination or itinerary as presented. The session included a brief question-and-answer period about the number of participants and timing before the board later voted to approve the overnight trip request.
Board members expressed general support for youth leadership opportunities, and no objections to the proposal were recorded in the meeting transcript.
