VTrans presents conceptual truss design for York Hill Bridge; expects three-month construction window

A VTrans project representative (listed in the minutes as JB McCarthy) presented conceptual plans for the York Hill truss bridge and reviewed the VTrans project development process, noting the project is in the conceptual-design phase. JB said some construction areas lie outside the Town Right-of-way and will require property-owner consent and that construction is estimated at about three months with traffic control and occasional stops.

Selectboard members asked about visibility at the existing site and whether renderings could be added to the plans. JB said he would see if preliminary plans can include renderings and that the slides from the meeting "will be available on the link posted in the Town of Lincoln website in Municipal Services/Highway Dept/York Hill Bridge." The presentation covered options for guardrail removal and replacement to support southside borings that will take about three days, and JB asked whether Town highway crew could assist with those tasks.

The Selectboard emphasized the value of visual renderings for community review and discussed coordinating borings between this project and the West River Road proposal. No decision to authorize construction funding was taken; the item remains at the conceptual design and coordination stage.
