The Chair told the Committee it may vote to enter executive session under state law and identified the applicable statutes. "The School Committee may vote to go into executive session for discussion and or action pursuant to Rhode Island General Laws 42-46-4 regarding those items of business exempt from open meetings under Rhode Island General Laws 42-46-5," the Chair said.
The Chair then specified the subsection: "Number one, pursuant to Rhode Island General Law 42-46-5 A1, a discussion related to the job performance of [a] district employee." Ms. Kimberly Grant moved to enter executive session; Mr. Juan Pablo Barrera seconded. The roll-call vote recorded "Yes" responses from the members listed in the transcript, and the Committee recessed into closed session.
