Council corrects municipal wheel tax text and adopts ordinance in single meeting

Council members moved to pass the ordinance and later moved to suspend the rules so the measure could be read three times and adopted in the same meeting. The council approved the motions by voice vote; the mayor said the changes reduce the tax in the amended sections and asked the city clerk to process the ordinance so it is effective by Sept. 1.
