The superintendent reported that enrollment is holding near the budgeted level and asked staff to bring a detailed projection at the next meeting, noting that current funding is "set to run out at the beginning of March." The superintendent said Dana will present numbers showing what funding will look like from March through the end of the fiscal year.
On facilities, the superintendent said an original contractor, Al Wall, inspected a cinder block wall at the high school and believes water is migrating through cracks in the wall and may be causing recurring interior leaks. "One of the original contractors, Al Wall, came out and took a look at that cinder block wall that's in the high school," the superintendent reported. Contractors told the district that certain repair applications require nighttime temperatures above 40°F, so immediate full repairs may be deferred until warmer conditions; board members discussed interim mitigation such as heat tubes or interior coatings to slow infiltration during winter.
Board members and staff noted the district previously contracted Icon Roofing for work that did not fully resolve the recurring leaks and described variability in when leaks reappear after rains. The superintendent said the district will monitor the wall through winter and spring and revisit repair options when conditions permit.
