The Montour School District board on Oct. 16 approved a six-month, district-wide pilot of a classroom AI teaching assistant called Brisk Teaching, set to begin Oct. 27, 2025, at a total cost of $3,500. The pilot and accompanying policy changes were presented during the education portion of the agenda and approved by roll call.
The meeting packet also included a PSBA-recommended policy change listed as "NEW - 815.1 Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Education" and a renumbering of the existing livestream policy to 815.2. Residents Katrina Romagnoli and Christina Frazier were listed under the 'Request to Address the Board' on the agenda specifically on the subject of artificial intelligence in education. The board recorded approvals for education items and policy revisions as part of the regular consent motions.
