Designer reports progress on office and maintenance garage; drainage changes shifted from transfer‑station scope

At the Aug. 18 ISiM Building Committee meeting, designer Lisa reported that the office and maintenance garage design‑development work is advancing and key documents are being prepared for RFP. The team finished drainage details and is merging electrical drawings so the RFP package will clearly describe site electrical work and security/telecom modifications.

Taylor and Greg explained coordination with the adjacent transfer‑station project to avoid duplicated scope. Taylor said the team will take a small portion of drainage work that otherwise would be bid with the transfer station and include it in the garage contract, describing it as “an add by subtraction” that should not increase overall project cost. The committee was told that only two change orders have been submitted so far — a time‑extension PCO for the permit delay and a drainage PCO of $46,000 — and that contingencies remain adequate to absorb those proposed changes.

Construction updates from Jeff noted interior footings are complete, exterior footings are underway, and rebar inspections by Lynn Associates passed; tall wall pours were scheduled for the following week. Staff said the project is on the revised schedule after the permit delay and expects the construction duration to be 12 months under the new timeline.
