Community donors, Jefferson Valley grants provide thousands for Whitehall programs and equipment

"Whitehall Country Store donated $5,000 as fall to our Angel fund which helps pay for students who may not be able to pay their lunch bill or afford their activity fee," Mr. Slater said, thanking local donors for supporting families. He also said Jefferson Valley Community Foundation awarded two grants: one for sound equipment to improve concert audio and another to replace the district's end‑of‑life field‑painting machine.
District staff said the donations will fund landscaping around the daycare building, coats for students in need, better sound at concerts and a new field painter for athletics. The board expressed appreciation for community generosity and noted the grants and donations will reduce pressure on operating budgets for these items.
