Superintendent Matt Combe told the board that the 2025—626 school year was "off and running" and that staff would continue monitoring expenditures and enrollment as the year progresses. Combe also noted strong participation in fall sports and thanked a staff member for serving as the board representative at the district inservice.
Executive Director of Human Resources Erin Stocker reported that district inservice at the SAGE Center included Collaborative Problem Solving training for licensed and classified staff, that HR is shifting from onboarding to substitute recruiting, and that the district is collaborating with Eastern Oregon University on Science of Reading curriculum work. Special education coordinator Marissa Turner reported successful Problem Solving trainings and said the Children's Rodeo should include 10—615 children from special services.
