Morrow County School Board approves consent agenda, accepts English Learners report

The Morrow County School District Board of Directors unanimously approved the consent agenda at its Sept. 8, 2025, meeting, Board Chair Richard Cole said. The consent package included approval of the Aug. 11, 2025, minutes, the district financial report, the enrollment report, employment actions, a first reading of rescinded/new/revised policies (JFCEB), the low-impact pesticide list, and the "English Learners in Oregon" annual report.
Board member Becky Kindle moved to approve the consent agenda and Ashley Lindsay seconded; the six members present voted aye. The consent vote formalized several routine administrative items and sent the policy JFCEB forward for a second reading. The minutes record the vote as: AYES: Richard Cole, Becky Kindle, Mary Killion, Rosa Delgado, Erin Anderson, Ashley Lindsay.
Director of Educational Services Dr. Marie Shimer told the board that the statewide 2023—64 "English Learners in Oregon" report shows Morrow County has the eighth-highest percentage of EL students in the state and that over 95% of EL students in the district graduate. The district's packet included the annual English Learners report required by state guidance; the report was considered as part of the consent items. The board did not separate any item from consent for discussion.
