Committee urges public input on metropolitan master plan; suggests infrastructure Facebook forum

Committee members urged residents to participate in a metropolitan master plan survey hosted by the Capital Region Planning Commission and discussed new outreach tools to gather input on local road needs.

Staff said the parish’s work with the Capital Region Planning Commission will wrap up around November and that a QR code and online survey are available on the CRPC website for residents to report where traffic goes and what improvements they want. “You can go on Capital Region Planning Commission website, take that survey,” staff said.

Chair proposed launching an infrastructure Facebook page where residents could post road issues and attend live Q&A sessions with parish and state officials, including state delegation members, to provide direct feedback on turn-lane requests and maintenance priorities. Members noted that online forums will include criticism but said the benefit of resident-contributed local knowledge outweighs the downside; staff agreed to explore formats and public-service announcements to drive participation.
