Tekton presents design progress, Eversource site walk planned and Sept. 4 bid‑document target

A Tekton representative updated the committee on recent technical programming meetings for HVAC, IT infrastructure and radio systems, saying the project has advanced through schematic design and is now in design development. “On May 14, we had 2 separate meetings. 1 specifically related to IT systems and infrastructure,” the presenter said while summarizing the work that will inform consoles, racks, cabling and antenna systems.

The presenter said Tekton will meet with Eversource on June 2 for a site walk to examine where conduit and transformers should land and later discuss rebate and incentive programs that could reduce project costs. He identified a June 12 design‑development milestone that will feed a third‑party cost estimator; Tekton expects the estimator will take three to four weeks to return a refined budget for the committee’s July meeting and aims for 100% bid documents by Sept. 4.

Committee members asked about specific changes made following coordination with town departments, and the presenter said alterations were largely adjustments to camera locations and access control rather than major layout or scope changes. He also described an upcoming interior design charrette with dispatch staff to refine finishes and workstations and noted Tekton will use a 3‑D model to share interior renderings with the committee.

The presenter flagged that market conditions have been relatively stable in the past six months, but supply‑chain or energy‑price shifts could change estimates quickly; he cited ongoing local projects as near‑term comparables and said some recent bids have been favorable. The committee did not take formal decisions; Tekton’s next deliverable was scheduled and the committee will receive updated budget figures in July.
