The Big Spring School District board approved a hotspot program to provide internet connectivity to families as needed through a T‑Mobile Project 10M initiative. Robert Krebs, the district's director of technology, described the program and said it would offer families internet service when they lack home connectivity.
Krebs estimated program costs to the board: "So, about a $90 uh $900 investment per month for the nine months of the school year," he said in the meeting record. The board approved the recommendation as presented; administration indicated final cost depends on the number of participating families and usage needs. Members noted the program could support student learning for households without reliable broadband.
