Board backs agreements including MOU for school-based drug and alcohol treatment

The Big Spring School District administration asked the board to approve two agreements Oct. 20: a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Roxbury Outpatient Services to provide school-based drug and alcohol treatment services, and an operational maintenance agreement with the Calgary Intermediate Unit for services at Calgary Intermediate Unit facilities.
Dr. Trisha Reid, director of student services, reviewed the MOU and the administration recommended the board approve the agreements as presented. "The administration recommends the board of school directors approve the agreements as presented," the record states. The motion was made, seconded and approved during the meeting.
Board members had no substantive public debate recorded on the agreements at the time of the vote; the items were presented as recommended and passed as part of the consent of recommended approvals for agreements.
