The Big Spring School District Board approved a facilities recommendation to replace the high school pool ultraviolet (UV) sanitation system, awarding the lowest quote of $49,500 to Glass Water Conditioning under a cooperative purchasing agreement. The project had been recommended by the building and property committee and the administration said funds were allocated for the work.
The director of facilities management explained the upgrade ims to improve system efficiency and reduce reliance on chemicals: "This will help also decrease the amount of chemicals that you may need to use to sanitize the pool and the water source in that area," the director said. The board approved the quote after noting the project had been included in prior planning and summer maintenance lists.
