The Building & Property Committee reviewed a roster of proposed summer 2026 projects and preliminary cost estimates, with administrators emphasizing that the numbers are estimates until formal bids are collected.
"The estimate that we received at this point is 81,400," the presenter said of a quote for a UV pool‑light replacement, and added the district was seeking additional vendor quotes before asking the board to approve spending. Other line‑item estimates included security camera replacements ("not to exceed $50,000"), middle‑school auditorium relay and control board ($25,000), a commons and gym sound system at Oak Flat ($40,000) and CAT‑6 cabling at the district office ($125,000). A proposed adaptive playground at Oak Flat was listed at $175,000–$200,000, with district staff saying they would pursue grant opportunities and consortium funding to help offset costs.
Board members pressed for clarity on timing and who would benefit from new equipment. The presenter said the adaptive playground is intended primarily for multi‑ability students served by the district and that consortium partners could contribute to the cost depending on how many students would use the equipment. No final votes were taken; administrators said they plan to seek formal quotes in February–March and return with firm recommendations and procurement documents for board action prior to the summer work window.
The committee noted one item — a proposed press box relocation — remains under study and has not yet been costed. Staff emphasized the difference between the rough estimates presented and the firm contract prices that will determine budget approvals.
