Big Spring SD previews 2026–27 budget assumptions: 3%–3.25% pay increases, healthcare up about 5%

Donna Lince said early salary assumptions for FY2026–27 call for a 3% across-the-board increase for individual staff contracts, 3.1% for Act 93 staff, and 3.25% for professional and classified staff. “For our professional staff, they will receive a 3.25% increase,” she said.
Lince also reported a preliminary healthcare estimate of a 5% increase, noting peer districts in the South Central Trust are seeing increases ranging from about 10% to more than 16%. She cautioned the healthcare figure is preliminary and will be finalized in the spring when insurer rates are known.
